How to Prepare For
Your Rhinoplasty Consultation

Welcome to the first step of your aesthetic goal. We understand that undergoing a Rhinoplasty is a significant milestone in quality of life. This guide is designed to help you feel prepared, confident, and empowered for your upcoming consultation.

The "Inspiration" Photos:
Feel free to show or bring 2–3 photos of results you admire. While every face is unique, this helps us understand your aesthetic "language". Our gallery is a reflection of our commitment to natural, proportionate results. If any of the transformations you see there resonate with your own aesthetic goals, please feel free to show those images at your consultation. They serve as an excellent starting point for our discussion.
The "What I Don’t Want" Folder:
Sometimes it is even more re-assuring to show us what you don’t like. This ensures we are perfectly aligned with your vision. Most patients simply want to avoid unnatural looks. This includes the "upturned or Piggy" look. A commonly used phrase is the "cookie cutter result" often to referring to surgeons who have one style of result that is expected to suit everyone.
Bring a Second Set of Ears:
You are more than welcome—and indeed encouraged—to bring a trusted friend, partner, or family member to join you for your consultation whether In-person or over Video. A first-time surgical discussion can involve a significant amount of new information; having a "second set of ears" helps ensure that every detail is captured and provides you with a familiar perspective when discussing your 3D simulations later at home. At our clinic, we nurture the relationship with both the patient and their support system to ensure everyone feels confident, informed, and at ease with the path forward.
Your "List of Curiosities"
It is perfectly natural to have a flurry of questions when considering rhinoplasty for the first time. We encourage you to write down any concerns, "what-ifs," or specific curiosities before you arrive—nothing is too trivial. Whether you are wondering about the sensation of recovery, how the procedure affects wearing glasses, or how to coordinate your treatment with upcoming travel plans, time off work, we are happy to provide detailed advice on every point. Attending with a list ensures that you leave your session with absolute clarity and the confidence that every one of your questions has been addressed.
A Focus on Functional Breathing
Rhinoplasty is as much a functional procedure as it is an aesthetic one; how you breathe is just as important as how you look. During your visit, Mr. Shoaib will take a clinical assessment of your internal nasal structure to ensure your airway is healthy and unobstructed. If you have a history of hay fever, chronic sinus issues, or any existing breathing difficulties, please share these with us. This clinical focus allows us to ensure that your aesthetic goals are designed to support, or even improve, your long-term respiratory health and quality of life.

The 3D Vision:
Rhinoplasty Imaging Gallery Included With Your Consultation

For many of our patients, this is the most anticipated and emotionally resonant part of the entire consultation. We believe that you shouldn't have to guess what your results might look like, you should be able to see them.

Using our state-of-the-art 3D Clinical Imaging, Mr. Shoaib will capture high-resolution profiles of your face to create a digital canvas. Together, you will explore the possibilities, refining the bridge, tip, and profile in real-time until the aims of your surgery are perfectly aligned with your personal vision. If you are attending in-person, our team will take your photos. If attending over Zoom Video, we will be sending you our Imaging portal for you to upload your photos using your smartphone.

This isn't just a technical exercise, it’s the moment you get to meet the future version of yourself. Seeing your predicted results from every angle often provides that final sense of clarity, turning nerves into genuine excitement.

Within 24 hours of leaving the clinic, we will send your full 3D Simulation Gallery directly to your inbox. This allows you to revisit your transformation in the comfort of your own home, share it with your loved ones, and feel confident that you are making a well-informed decision.

Questions We Recommend You Ask
Surgical Objectives

  • Experience: "How often do you perform this specific type of rhinoplasty (e.g., open vs. closed, or ethnic rhinoplasty)?"
  • Suitability: "Based on my skin thickness and bone structure, what are the realistic limitations of what can be achieved?"
  • The Procedure: "Where will the incisions be placed, and will there be visible scarring?"
  • Recovery: "When is the 'socially ready' date, when will the bruising be gone enough to attend a dinner or go back to work?"
  • Safety & Aftercare: "What is the clinic’s protocol if I have concerns or questions during the first 48 hours after surgery?"

    Frequently Asked Questions
    For New Rhinoplasty Consultation Patients

1 Are Zoom Video Appointments As Accurate as In-Person Appointments?

Zoom Video appointments are very accurate and are widely used for out-of-town patients considering surgery in London. There are some treatments that can't be attended via zoom inc; Revision Rhinoplasty, Body and Breast Surgeries. These particular appointments require skin elasticity assessment and accurate measurements before deciding on treatment plans. Although accuracy is not limited in Zoom attendances, patients may wish to have a more personal experience by visiting the actual clinic, surgeon and staff in-person to help build confidence before choosing to proceed.

2 How do I know what my new nose will actually look like?

We use advanced 3D Clinical Imaging to take the guesswork out of your transformation. During your consultation, high-resolution photographs are taken from multiple angles to create a digital model of your face. Mr. Shoaib then performs a live simulation, adjusting the nasal bridge, tip, and profile to align with your aesthetic goals. Within 24 hours of your appointment, you will be sent a private 3D Imaging Gallery. This allows you to view your "before" and "predicted" results side-by-side in a high-quality digital format, giving you the time and space to review your potential new look at home before deciding to proceed.

3 What if I can't decide between two different 'looks' in my 3D Gallery?

Don't worry, you don't have to decide on the spot. If you get home and find yourself torn between two subtle variations of your new profile, simply let us know. We can arrange a quick follow-up call or a second "planning chat" with our clinical team. We want you and your family to feel certain, not just "ready." We are here to refine the 3D simulations until the "vision" in your gallery matches the one in your head.

4 What if I feel "Consultation Brain Fog" and forget everything discussed?

This is completely normal! Most patients are so focused on the clinical assessment that the details can feel like a blur afterward. This is exactly why we created the 24-Hour Digital Brochure. You don’t need to take notes; within 24-hours of leaving the clinic, you’ll receive a comprehensive digital pack containing your 3D gallery, your bespoke recovery timeline, and a step-by-step guide to everything we covered. You can review it in your own time, stress-free.

5 Can I bring a "Second Set of Ears" (like my Mum, Best Friend or my Partner)?

A first-time consultation can feel like a whirlwind of information. Bringing a trusted family member or friend, someone who knows your face as well as you do, is a brilliant way to stay relaxed. They often remember the small details you might miss and can help you discuss your 3D simulations afterward. At Berkeley Square Medical, we don’t just look after our patients; we look after their support systems, too. We’ll ensure both you and your guest are fully informed, comfortable, and confident in every step of the journey. After all, they’ll likely be the ones helping you during your first week of recovery! If your support person can’t make it in person, we are happy to have them join the Consultation via FaceTime/Video Call

6 Is there a "Best Time of Year" to have Rhinoplasty?

The best time is simply whenever you have 7-days to truly switch off. While you’ll be "laptop-ready" in 24 hours, the best results come from patients who allow their bodies to rest during that first week. Whether that’s a quiet week in winter or a summer "staycation," our Clinical Team will help you coordinate your surgery date with your life’s biggest milestones, weddings, graduations, or career moves, to ensure your recovery is as seamless as your results.

7 Is 64 Harley Street a "General" Hospital?

This is a common question from families. 64 Harley Street is a CQC registered private specialist hospital, designed specifically for elective procedures like Rhinoplasty. Unlike a busy general hospital, our environment is calm, private, and highly controlled. There are no emergency admissions or unpredictable wards. This means our clinical team is focused 100% on your comfort and your recovery. Many patients and their families find this environment much more reassuring and "boutique" than a traditional hospital setting.

8 I’ve Never Had a General Anaesthetic, Should I Be Worried?

It is completely natural to feel nervous about your first time "going under." At Berkeley Square Medical, we use Consultant Anaesthetists who are experts in "TIVA" (Total Intravenous Anaesthesia). This modern technique is famous for providing a "gentle wake-up," meaning you won't feel the grogginess or nausea often associated with older methods. Most patients describe it as the best nap they’ve ever had! Mr. Shoaib and the anaesthetic team will meet with you on the morning of treatment to answer every question so you feel 100% at ease.
